New Bands Required - contact Johnny 07956 977205

Mama K’s Club at Ruskin House is one of Croydon’s best kept musical secrets. This club happens every Friday and kicks off with a jam session at 8.30pm followed by a featured band from 10pm to 11pm. Although Blues is a major component in its musical make up Mama K’s covers all musical genres from Rock to R&B and Country to Heavy Metal.

Mama K’s is a club run by musicians for musicians. It is not a commercial profit making exercise. It is one of the few venues left where musicians (and aspiring musicians) can both play and listen and can give and receive encouragement.

Most of the featured bands are local with one or more players being regular participants in the jams. Some bands have been formed out of these jams, and a number have gone on to play on the London circuit.

A new feature is a new bands night, which will feature two new young local bands on one night a month. For this night only there will be no jam session.

Mama K’s is a very friendly and supportive place, and a great environment in which to play, whether jamming or as a band     even if you are just starting out and not yet as confident as you might be. That is what Mama K’s is about. It’s a place for musicians to play and for music to be heard LIVE!

Admission £2 (unwaged £1), subsidised bar at very reasonable prices
